Who's behind it

Nomad Advisersis independent and self-funded. We are not owned by a visa agency, a law firm, or a government, and no country or program pays to be ranked or recommended here. That independence is the point: it means we can tell you when a much-hyped visa isn't actually tax-free, or when a program has been discontinued with no announcement, without anyone's commercial interest getting in the way.

How we research every figure

Accuracy is the whole product, so we hold ourselves to a few firm rules:

• Official sources only. Every income threshold, fee and rule traces back to the country's own immigration or tax authority. We link to that source on each country page so you can check it yourself.
• We date what we check. Each country guide shows when we last reviewed it, because these rules change and a figure without a date is worthless.
• We exclude what isn't real. If a program has been discontinued, or only announced without a working application, we leave it out or say so plainly, rather than padding the list.
• We separate fact from marketing. Plenty of visas get sold as tax-free when they aren't once you actually live there. Where that's the case, we say it, and explain why.
• Native currency first. Thresholds are shown in the country's own currency with a US-dollar conversion, so a moving exchange rate never hides the real requirement.

What we are not

Nomad Advisers is an information service. We are not a law firm, an immigration consultancy, or a government agency, and nothing here is legal, immigration, or tax advice. Visa and tax rules change and vary by consulate and by your own nationality, so we link to the official source on every page and recommend confirming the current requirements, and your personal situation, with a qualified professional before you apply or move.

How we make money

Nomad Advisers is free to use. We may earn a commission when you buy a recommended product through our links, such as nomad insurance, a US LLC formation service, or an eSIM, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the requirements we publish, those come from official sources, not from partners.

Rules change fast and we would rather hear about it than be wrong. If a figure looks off or a country has updated its program, email hello@nomadadvisers.com and we'll check it against the official source and fix it.
